Security cameras. Spy cams. Monitoring devices. Voyeurs. The Big Brother. Who’s watching you?
Today’s privacy is a major concern. Someone is watching someone somewhere.
But don’t you know there’s an all-seeing eye that watches over you? It’s not a super spy camera, but surely it’s better than anything in this world could do.
1. Warn Yourself in Times of Trouble.
Are you in trouble? I know of someone who is really bothered with cameras almost everywhere in their workplace. They doubt it was not just for security reasons. It’s like a voyeur’s constantly watching everyone.
Even a warrior like David was in trouble many times and needed someone to watch over him. And God did.
“My help comes from the Lord,” David sang, “the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”
When things and circumstances get slippery, God watches over you 24/7. He remains awake and gives you discernment. That’s for you to know the dangers and keep your integrity intact.
Since God already knows everything about you, He’s not there to do surveillance or simply observe but to let you know He is ever-present and awake, willing to keep yourself safe and sound.
2. Watch Yourself Under God’s Protection.
Be always alert. Satan and his ilk are constantly looking for someone they can devour and destroy. As such, your security is God’s concern.
It is God’s duty to safeguard His children like any earthly father would. God keep His family under His protective care and would not want to see any of his children be placed in harm’s way.
As David learned in his life. “The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.”
Under God’s watch, every moment is in God’s control. Nothing escapes from His protection. If you’re His child and servant, He is your refuge and fortress in times of danger.
3. Wake Up Everyday Assured of God’s Care.
It’s such a comfort to understand how God watches over His people to care for them until the end. Being under God’s watch is to be followed closely and nurtured in His love.
As ordinary fathers like me would love to watch our growing children, also “The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
The truth is, the Lord won’t let go of you. He has His eyes fixed on you.
Every time you feel that you’re alone, remember that your Father in heaven is watching over your whole life. Wherever you are and wherever you’ll go, the Lord promises He will constantly be with you.
How does it feel now that you know God is watching right close to you?
Do you now realize that you need to live the real you especially when no one is watching?
