What’s Up With the Book that Transforms the World?

I was just early high school when I first finished reading the whole Bible. Depending on the translation, the Judeo-Christian Bible has 66 books, 1,189 chapters, at least 31,000 verses, and 788,258 words or more.

Here is my summary of the entire Bible in 100 words.

The Bible says God created everything good. But we all have sinned against God and shall be judged accordingly. Because God the Father loves everyone, He sent Jesus Christ, His only Son to seek and save those who believe in Him alone. Jesus, even though sinless, suffered for our sins, died on the cross, was buried, and resurrected with many witnesses. In the power of the Holy Spirit, if anyone trusts Jesus as Savior, asks forgiveness, and declares, “Jesus is Lord,” that person shall be reborn into God’s family and be saved from God’s judgment to spend eternity in heaven.

That’s it, exactly 100 words. You can read it in less than a minute but you’ll have to live with it your entire life and forever.

If you agree with the whole message of love in God’s Word, here’s what you can do—as I did.

1. Come to Realize that You Need God.

The Bible says God created everything good. But we all have sinned against God and shall be judged accordingly.

Bad things did happen. After God created the universe, he created humans in His own image and gave them the gift of free will. But Adam and Eve willfully disobeyed God and fell into sin.

As their offspring, we too are sinners by nature and actions. Even our good intentions fell short. In fact, man’s attempt to reach God through religion is evidence that humanity was separated from the holy God.

From the start to the last book of the Bible, you’ll clearly see that every person is a sinner and deserves God’s righteous judgment.

2. Consider the Hope We Have in Jesus Christ.

The truth is, despite the sinful state and shortcomings of people, God’s love prevailed.

Because God the Father loves everyone, He sent Jesus Christ, His only Son to seek and save those who believe in Him alone. Jesus, even though sinless, suffered for our sins, died on the cross, was buried, and resurrected with many witnesses.

The main focus of the Bible’s message is Jesus Christ, the Messiah. He is the Gospel.

Apart from Jesus Christ, there is no hope and we are all miserable in the coming judgment of God.

3. Confess Jesus Alone.

The truth is, without God we cannot do anything to save ourselves.

Only God can save ourselves.

If God wants to save humanity, He will be the one to provide the way with His Spirit moving first in the person’s heart and mind.

As such the statement below clearly says it.

In the power of the Holy Spirit, if anyone trusts Jesus as Savior, asks forgiveness, and declares, “Jesus is Lord,” that person shall be reborn into God’s family and be saved from God’s judgment to spend eternity in heaven.

While all religions’ attempt is to find human (or sometimes magical) ways to connect with God, the message of the Bible is different.

Everything in the Bible is about the personal relationship that God desires. He reaches down to people in love and grace. And through God’s empowerment, humans have the ability to put their trust and have faith in Jesus Christ.

No wonder the most important requirement for such relationship is to believe or to receive Jesus Christ into one’s heart as personal Savior, declaring Him the Lord of your life.

Do you agree with summary above?

I pray you’ll trust Jesus today to eternity.
